If you’re here, I want to thank you for reading.
2015 is shaping up to be a very strange year for me. In the course of 12 months, I’m on target to lose 70 pounds, write a book proposal, acquire an agent, climb a mountain, and dive headfirst into this crazy thing called adulthood. Sometimes adulting is less fun than I imagined, but it’s definitely not less interesting.
Here’s what you need to know about me: I’m a 27-year-old recovering evangelical with a deep and abiding love for food, family, and foster care. I grew up in the heart of the south where I was very familiar with culottes and hymns, spending my summers avoiding bikinis and mixed swimming.
I’ve come a long way since those days, but often I find myself in the tension of longing to please God and finding that task incredibly difficult. I feel helpless to live anything but an authentic life, so I come to you as myself, completely flawed by wholly redeemed.
